January 2009

We are pleased to announce the appointment of our new President and Chief Executive Officer, Noah Schwartz. CSA conducted a nationwide search, and our Board of Directors identified Noah as an exceptional candidate with the ideal leadership background to guide our organization. In a letter sent to us in September, Noah stated his intent to relocate to Arizona to join CSA. During his transition, he will work closely with Interim CEO Kate Blackstock. His position will be effective on January 5, 2009.

Noah will bring 12 years of industry experience to our organization. He has an expansive area of knowledge on organizational development, fundraising, and management. For the last three years, he worked as the Executive Director for Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority in Virginia. He and his management team successfully increased the organization’s performance rating under Section 8 HCV standards. Noah also managed new work plans to address the agency’s underperforming physical asset management practices. Prior to joining CRHA, Noah was Executive Director at Monticello Area Community Action Agency, were he led the organization through significant changes in analysis, development, and implementation of administrative and programmatic systems.

He has worked in a number of other leadership roles, including:

- Director, Middlesex Services, Community Renewal Team (Middletown, CT)

- Director of Housing Services, Community Renewal Team (Hartford, CT)

- Director of Utility Services, Community Renewal Team (Hartford, CT)

Noah holds a BA in anthropology and a MA in history from the University of Connecticut.

Under his direction, we are confident that CSA will continue to deliver outstanding value to Arizona families each year. Please join us in welcoming Noah to CSA.
