CSA’s EHRS Program provides urgent home repairs to low and moderate income families throughout Chandler, Gilbert and Glendale. The EHRS Program also performs minor rehabilitation of CSA-owned multi-family housing units, preparing them for rental for those in need.
Why is the EHRS Program So Critically Needed?
The Arizona Housing Commission estimates that about one-third of Arizona’s housing inventory is more than 30 years old. As homes age, the need for rehabilitation increases. In Maricopa County, nearly 14 percent of all housing units are in need of major repairs. For many of the elderly, disabled and low-income households, our services fill a major void.
Working Together to Solve Problems
Our fully licensed construction crew often addresses issues with structural defects, plumbing, electrical systems, heating and cooling, roofing and access for people with disabilities. With major funding from the Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and with assistance from Valley of the Sun United Way, CSA is able to assist hundreds of families with home repairs each year.
